Godley, Memorial services for Lela J. Armstrong, 79, of Godley, will be held at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, November 24, 2004 at Crosier-Pearson-Mayfield Funeral Home Chapel, of Cleburne. Lela J. Armstrong, was born April 21, 1925, in Haskell, Texas. She grew up in Wichita Falls, Texas, but graduated from Nocona High School, in 1942. She married F. H. Armstrong, January 11, 1946. They moved to Godley in October of 1957. She worked at Walls Industries, spending her free time decorating wedding cakes, birthday cakes and making sugar Easter eggs. She was always a favored room mother for the class of all five of her children. She passed away on Sunday, November 21, 2004 surrounded by her family. Mrs. Armstrong is survived by her husband, F. H. Armstrong, of Godley; sons, James C.Armstrong and wife, Linda, of Whitney and Frank W. Armstrong, of Godley; daughters, Rhynah West, of Fort Worth, Norma Hempel and husband, Donald, of Whitney and Laura Jones, of Godley; brothers, Carl Hill and wife, Betty, of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Burl Hill and wife, Pat, of Garland, Texas and Stanley Hill and wife, Joan, of Wichita Falls, Texas; nine grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by one brother, Clifford Hill and one sister, Kathryn Jones, both of Wichita Falls, Texas.
