  1. Lee and I were best friends beginning in the 8th grade. He’d give you the shirt off his back. We lost touch as we grew older. Great guy

  2. Lee was born in Bismarck, ND, and grew up in Regent, where his parents grew wheat and raised Herefords. In about 1968, the family moved to Dallas, TX, where Lee attended Lake Highlands Junior High and High School, and met his long-time friend, Gary S. Miller.

After working at his parents’ Carousel Motel, Lee managed K-Jak’s Pawn & Purchase, from about 1979 to 2001. He called many of his regular customers “Chief” or “Slim.”

Lee’s hobbies included gun collecting, shooting, and off-roading with his son, in Colorado, Utah, Nevada, Arizona, and New Mexico.

Lee was an original “Ride or Die,” and when he wasn’t riding a bike, he was considering his next purchase, even with his arm in a sling! Over the years, Lee’s motorcycles included Harleys, a BMW, an Indian, and a Triumph, including a couple with custom-built side cars. Finally, repairing and maintaining his cars and bikes was a skill and a pastime that he enjoyed with his son.

    May he rest in peace.
