Arlington, TX – Joseph A. Pinell III died peacefully after a long battle with dementia, on December 21, 2021 in Ft Worth. He was born November 28, 1948 in New Orleans, LA.
Joe is survived by his wife, Marysol Pinell, sisters Donna Cook, Pat Kreeger, son, Joseph Pinell IV, grandchildren Taylor and Kaitlyn Pinell. He will be missed by many other relatives and friends.
Joe was characterized by a passionate character with a zest for life. He had many varied interests that gave him, his families and friends great delight. He loved riding bicycles and it would not be unusual for Joe to ride 50 to 100 miles on his bike every single day after work. Every July, you would find him glued to the TV watching the Tour de France. His passion for cooking was inspired by his accomplished Cajun grandfather who was a chef, Felix Simon, and Joe’s bread pudding recipe rivaled any dessert in any New Orleans’ fine dining establishment. His love for cooking was also exhibited in his great skills as a barbecue expert and he graciously shared his cooking with friends and family. His hobbies also included photography and after retiring as a branch manager at Orkin Pest Control, he was an official photographer at Disneyland and he gave many tourists joy as he captured their experiences in that magical theme park.
A celebration of Joe’s life will be held in Santa Monica, California sometime in May – date to be determined.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer Society. Your help will allow for continued research to make Alzheimer’s a thing of the past and will help other people battling this terrible disease.

Rest in peace Joe. You suffered a lot lately and you fought a good fight, but now you are free of pain and in a much better place. Please watch over my sister from where you are. Now it’s her time to heal as well.

I loved uncle Joe so much. He was a great uncle. My love for him cannot be expressed in words. I gain solace knowing he’s no longer in pain. I know he’s up there in the great kitchen in the sky making that delicious bread pudding for all to try.
Marysol Pinell
Thank you Frankie, He loved watching Gavin’s videos.

Marysol Pinell
Thank you Nissa & Norma, He loved to party. I told him if he passed before me I was going to do a funeral New Orleans style. We are having a small Celebration of his Life with a Jazz band that will parade up and down our street. Already talked to my neighbors and asked them to please forgive the noise while we celebrate my husband. They loved! We have always been blessed with good neighbors.

Marysol,
I’m so very sorry to hear such sad news. I didn’t know Joe, but from what you’ve said about him, he seemed like such a wonderful man.
I hope your beautiful memories of times together help to ease your pain in the very near future.
And may your Betsy and Cashew pups help to provide extra comfort to you during these dark days. I’m sure they are missing Joe, too.
Warm hugs,
Abbie (your Ambius “sister”)
Marysol Pinell
Thank you Abbie, He was my GI Joe like my sister used to call him 🙂
When I get sad, I watch some of his videos (have tons of them) and they make me smile.

Thank you C.K. the last of the Pinell Nuts – they will be missed but I’m sure he was welcomed by our pets …
“You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face, your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pets, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then together you and your special pet cross the Rainbow Bridge…
