John Allen Barnett
CLEBURNE — John Allen Barnett, 66, passed away peacefully at his home with his family around him on October 21, 2011. Celebration of life: 2:00 P.M. Sunday November 6, 2011 at The Barn. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for you to send donations to Mission Hospice for their compassion and loving care. 505 N. Ridgeway Dr., Cleburne, Texas 76033. John was born August 6, 1945 in Kansas City, MO. to John Barnett and Syble Kitchens. John attended school in Arkansas and graduated from the University of Arkansas-West Ark. John served in the US Air Force and was owner of Burleson Bolt and Supply for the past 40 years. One of John’s proudest accomplishments was helping establish the city of Coyote Flats and was currently serving as the Mayor. John loved traveling and spending time with his family and friends, as well as hosting numerous events at The Barn. It has been said; “gauge a man’s wealth by the number of friends he has”, and John was one of the richest men that ever lived. He is survived by his wife of more than 30 years, Brenda Barnett; five children, Shelley Golden and husband, Keith, Roy Barnett and wife Theresa, Tommy Havens and wife Kristi, Sylvia Fitzgerald and husband, Michael, Kristi Foster and husband Chris; 13 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and 2 brothers, Bill and Ronny Barnett; 4nieces and nephews and many friends.

    I knew him thru the railroad and we did some work with him
    He and his wonderful wife were friends of mine. He and his wife were special people
