John Allen Barnett
CLEBURNE — John Allen Barnett, 66, passed away peacefully at his home with his family around him Friday, Oct. 21, 2011. Celebration of life: 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 6, at The Barn. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to Mission Hospice, 505 N. Ridgeway Drive, Cleburne, Texas 76033, for its compassion and loving care. John was born Aug. 6, 1945, in Kansas City, Mo., to John Barnett and Syble Kitchens. John attended school in Arkansas and graduated from the University of Arkansas-Westark. John served in the U.S. Air Force and owned Burleson Bolt and Supply for the past 40 years. One of John’s proudest accomplishments was helping establish the city of Coyote Flats and was currently serving as the mayor. John loved traveling and spending time with his family and friends, as well as hosting numerous events at The Barn. It has been said, “Gauge a man’s wealth by the number of friends he has,” and John was one of the richest men that ever lived. Survivors: His wife of more than 30 years, Brenda Barnett; children, Shelley Golden and husband, Keith, Roy Barnett and wife, Theresa, Tommy Havens and wife, Kristi, Sylvia Fitzgerald and husband, Michael, and Kristi Foster and husband, Chris; 13 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; brothers, Bill and Ronny Barnett; four nieces and nephews; and many friends.
