Jo Ann Poynor
BURLESON — Jo Ann Poynor, 81, passed away on Thursday May 3, 2012. Funeral: 2:00 P.M. Tuesday at Bethesda Baptist Church in Burleson. A Luncheon will be held from 11:30 A.M. to 1:30 P.M. Tuesday prior to the service, at the church. Visitation: 6-8 P.M. Monday at Mayfield Kiser Funeral Home in Burleson. Interment: Burleson Memorial Park. Jo Ann worked many years for The National Weather Service, then went into business for herself. Once she retired she enjoyed traveling and various hobbies such quilting and provided many quilts to the John Peter Smith Hospital baby ward. Jo Ann was a devoted Christian, a loving mother grandmother and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Jo Ann is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, James Poynor, brother, Claude Freeman and parents, Claude and Cordell Freeman. Survivors: daughters, Kathryn DaVault and husband, Mike and Karen Lynne Fiscus and husband Jerry; grandchildren, Natalie Gregory and husband, Brian, Adam Fiscus and Fiance’, Leasa Mabe; step grandchildren, Shauna, Nathian, and Wesley DaVault; great grand children, Lindsey, Madelyn, Lillian and Presleigh Gregory, Connor Fiscus and Valon and Strader Mabe, and dear friend, Bill Hoskins.
