  1. I just wanted to send my love and support through this note, since I can’t be there for the funeral or any get-togethers afterwards.

    To Marty and my cousins:

  2. Amy-We are so sorry to hear about your dad. We are thinking of you and keeping you in our prayers.

  3. A TRIBUTE TO JIM BURKHARD

    I thank my God upon my every remembrance of you, Jim.

    A man kind and gentle, whose resonant voice sings Peace to all who listen.

    A handsome man, whose eyes met dwarves and giants with equanimity,

    Whose strong jaw and penetrating gaze spoke love and grace from dignity and style

    Whose heart sent springs of compassion through salty tears

    And whose wisdom fell gently upon listening ears.

    A strong man, athletic, energized by the Joy of Living~

    Challenging young and old alike to rise to exceptional heights;

    Persevering in adversity, gaining spiritual and physical muscle with every challenge;

    Leaving a trail of victory for those who walk in your well ordered paths.

    A man of wonderful creativity

    Who, like our heavenly Father, brought forth beauty from chaos, substance from thought;

    Whose keen eye for hidden potential brought blessing in fulfillment;

    And whose legacy lives on,

    enveloping family and strangers in pristine dwellings of comfort.

    A man of fatherly tenderness, delighting in the children of mutual adoration,

    Whose descendents will forever treasure memories significant and rich.

    A faithful husband, devoted to your one true Love~

    Smitten by her smile,

    Smudged by her tears,

    Yoked snugly together through life?s ebbs and tides,

    Now awaiting the reunion of the ages?

    That you may be together again in the chambers of Heavenly Love.

    You, James Vernon Burkhard, are an eternal Jewel, sparkling in God?s Light.

    We salute you,

    Husband

    Father

    Brother

    Uncle

    Friend

    Man of God.

  4. I wish I could have been there for the fellowship and rememberance of such a great guy and uncle.

    with much love!

    Dan
