Geraldine "Jerry" Fisher
Jerry was born on October 25, 1921, in San Antonio, Texas to William and Clinton Steubesand. During her school years, she lived with her parents in Victoria, Texas and graduated from Patti Welder High School class of 1938. Jerry attended Howard Payne College and married Frank Fisher Jr. of Kerrville, Texas on June 21, 1941. She was a sixth generation Texan and loved to travel, particularly after she retired from her position as principal’s secretary for E.A Jones Elementary in Fort Bend ISD. She deeply loved the Lord and her wonderful family. She was made a widow much too soon by the death of her beloved husband, Frank, in 1982. She is also preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Linda Owens Scallorn who went to be with the Lord in 2008. She is survived by her daughter, Judy and son-in-law Edward Williams of League City, Texas, son, Bill and daughter-in-law Jeanie of Burleson, Texas, grandchildren, Melissa Juenke, Andy Williams, Marty Owens, Laura Reyna, Spencer Williams, Lauren Fisher, and Kristen Fisher, as well as her beloved sister-in-law travel partner, Ruby Fisher of Taylor, Texas. She was also blessed with 9 great-grandchildren in whom she took great delight! A memorial service for Jerry will be held at the First Baptist Church of Burleson on Saturday, Feb. 6, at 1:00 p.m. Donations in her honor may be made to the Promises Ministry at First Baptist Burleson or the American Heart Association.
