Gerald Lee Verwolf
Gerald Lee Verwolf, born September 3,1949 in Downey California to Peter and Betty Verwolf passed away at his home in Alvarado Texas on Nov 24, 2019. He served in the U.S. Army from 1968-1971. He earned his Masters Degree and became a professor at MSC while operating the Tex West Boxing club in Salinas CA. He worked for the state of California for over 33 years in the communications field and was also an active member of the National Emergency Number Association. He volunteered for the Sports Car Racing Association of the Monterey Peninsula for many years and enjoyed Astronomy, music and riding the open road on his Harley. He was a friend like no other. He is survived by his wife Deborah Verwolf, son and daughter-in-law, Joshua and Noelia Verwolf, son Gerald Verwolf , 8 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren and sisters Joan Dull and Judy DePalma. He was proceeded in death by his parents Peter and Betty Verwolf and son Clint Larry Verwolf. Private celebration of life after cremation in Mansfield Texas.

Some years ago while trying to contact family members as the coordinator of the Verwolf Reunion I had the pleasure of talking to Jerry on the phone. He express well his love of his family so I know there are many who will be missing him dearly. Hold on to the great memories and strength you have received with and from him. Love to all.

  10. I have tried to leave a note here a couple of times. I don’t see it so I will leave another.
    When I saw this I thought of a phone conversation I had with Gerald a few years ago when I was updating the Verwolf Reunion mailing list. It was just wonderful to visit with him and hear of his great love of family. So I know that there are many who will miss him greatly.
    He had such a great sense of humor and zest for life. Hang onto those awesome memories and be there for each other as Gerry would want you to be.

  13. Jerry Sr. was always the most knowledgeable person I have ever met. Every time we spoke or saw one another he was always so sweet. He will be missed deeply.
