GEORGE WILLIAM (BILL) BROWN January 15, 1945 – March 21, 2011.  Bill, 66, was tenderly let go into the loving arms of Jesus on March 21, 2011 as he was surrounded in love by his family at his home in Grandview. Bill’s passionate hobby for over 40 years was ranching and raising Santa Gertrudis cattle, a love passed down to him from his parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents.  He served as President of the Premiere Santa Gertrudis Association and served on the Board of Directors in different capacities during his more than 20 years of involvement with the Association.  He loved showing cattle with his daughters and nieces and he enabled a number of kids to raise and show their own cattle. 1. I first met Bill in Junior High School riding the school bus. We were friends for over 50 years, but that was not unusual for Bill. He had many life time friends and was loved by all of them. I was never around Bill that I was not laughing and having a great time. He always put a smile on my face and I will miss him, but I am grateful that he no longer has to deal with the suffering. I know he is with God now and I know that will give Karen and his family comfort.

  2. Mr. Brown will be very much missed. His smile, his laugh was what we saw first when he and Mrs. Brown enter the doors of his granddaughter and grandson’s school. He was a joy to sit by and talk to even if it was just a few words because we were watching our kido’s play volleyball or performing in a play.
May God bless each and every one of you and give you all the strength to heal.

    With all our Love,

  3. Karen and family, I am so sorry for your loss. Every time I think of Bill, I see a gentle man with a smile on his face. And I see you, Karen, right beside him – the love of his life. I thank God for allowing me to share in your life within our church family and for the fun we had together at church events. Bill will be sorely missed by those he touched. You are all in my prayers.

  16. We are so sorry to hear about Bill. I just found out about his passing, due to a search of Santa Gertrudis breeders and I was looking to see if Bill was still in the business. What a shock that all I found was his obit. Again, I’m so sorry, Bill was one of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet.
