George W. Searcy
CROWLEY — George Wade Searcy passed away peacefully on May 11th, 2012, at the age of 71, at his home in Crowley, Texas. FUNERAL SERVICE: 11 a.m. Tuesday May 15th 2012 at Mayfield Kiser Funeral Home Chapel in Fort Worth, Texas, with Kenneth Coleman officiating. Interment will follow at Caddo Cemetery in Joshua, Texas.  There will be a Visitation Monday evening from 6-8 at Mayfield Kiser Funeral Home. George was born May 27th, 1940 in Bandera County, Texas, to A.J. (Shorty) and Eura Searcy. He attended school in Bandera, TX. He attended college at Sul Ross State University. After college he drove a truck professionally for a number of years in El Paso and Fort Worth then did contract remodeling until he retired.  In 1976 he married Gloria Ann Ragland. They have lived in the Fort Worth area since 1973. After retiring, he enjoyed rebuilding his old ‘53 CJ3A Willis Jeep, carpentry, reading, painting and mowing on his John Deer tractor. And, more than anything George loved spending time with his grandkids. SURVIVORS: George is survived by his wife Gloria, of Crowley, one son; Steven Searcy and daughter-in-law Lisa of Las Vegas, Nevada, two daughters: Angela McPherson and son-in-law Lloyd of Temple, Texas: Kristy Westbrook Amble and son-in-law Geoff of Crowley, Texas. George also has six grandchildren: (removed by request), Macy McPherson, Rowdy Westbrook, Spencer Amble, Megan Searcy and Colby Searcy. He is preceded in death by: his parents Shorty and Eura Searcy, his brothers Glen and Elmo Searcy,   his sister Ima Jean Stevens, and son-in law Larry Westbrook.

  3. Our hearts are saddened at the news of Uncle George’s passing. He was a sweet, soft-spoken, gentle man who loved his family so much. I am sure there is quite a reunion going on now that Mimi and Papa have all their children with them in Heaven. We send our love to you, Aunt Gloria, and all your family.

  9. Our great sympathy to George’s family. He was a dear friend to Johnny and myself. Ima Jean and I graduated together in 1956. Of course, he was the little brother. Our prayers will be with you today. Wish it was not so far or we would be attending services.
