George Truman Willmoth
George Truman Willmoth, 84, of Burleson Texas passed away on April 2, 2015 with his sons by his side. George was born on July 15, 1930 in Hemphill County, Texas to Grover Caleb Willmoth and Gladys Pearl McComa.He married Ruby Faye Mayfield on Nov. 12, 1949 and raised two sons Steven Curtis Willmoth and Scott Lee Willmoth. George attended Tarleton College and studied Veterinary Medicine. He worked at General Motors for 16 years in the parts department and then in 1972 began farming full time. He farmed 3200 acres in the Burleson/Everman area from 1963-1981. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. In his retirement years, George loved to dance. He attended dances at senior centers several times a week. George was preceded in death by his wife Ruby, brother Sylvester Reed of Cleburne, brother William Willmoth, sister Elizabeth Ann Gaudet,and sister Willadean Petsoff. George is survived by son Steve Willmoth, wife Debbie, son Scott Willmoth. Grandchildren; Molly Austin, husband Casey Austin, Anna Willmoth, Seth Willmoth wife Tamara. Great grandchildren; Wyatt McCaslin age 11, Kennedy Hickman age 8, Kash Hickman age 5. Services will be held at Pathway Church in Burleson on Tuesday, April 7, 2015 at 10:00 am. Interment will be at Burleson Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be at Mayfield Kiser Funeral Home Monday, April 6, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 pm. We will always carry his memory in our hearts. Where would our world be without farmers? …….”And on the 8th day………God made a farmer!
