Frances Pauline Hodges
Cleburne-Funeral Services for Pauline Hodges, 83, will be held at 10:00 AM, Tuesday, November 11, 2003, at Crosier-Pearson-Mayfield Funeral Home Chapel, of Cleburne, with Rev. George Sutton officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5-7 PM, Monday, November 10, 2003, at Crosier-Pearson-Mayfield. Pauline Hodges, retired, passed away on November 7, 2003 at her home. She had been in ill health for several years. Mrs. Hodges was born December 14, 1919, in Cleburne to Ross and Leota Wright. At the age of six after the death of her mother, she moved to the home of her grandparents, Mr. And Mrs. John Kirkham. Her great-grandfather, Sam B. Kirkham, was one of the first settlers of Johnson County. She married John William Hodges in 1942, in Cleburne. During World War II, Mr. Hodges served in the South Pacific with the U.S. Navy while she lived in California. They returned to Cleburne in 1945. He preceded her in death in 1967. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Harold Wright. She retired as Vice President in 1984 from Interfirst Bank, which was originally Cleburne National Bank. She attended several banking schools and seminars throughout the country and was in charge of the Diamond Accounts, which she initiated. She conducted many travels to Europe, Canada, Hawaii and other areas of the country. Mrs. Hodges was a member of First United Methodist Church, where she served on the Administrative Board and the Building Committee. She had served as Secretary of the Cleburne Ex-Students Association and was selected as Coming Home Queen in 1978. She was a past member of the Cleburne Public Library Board,

    I WAS SO SORRY TO HEAR OF YOU LOSING YOUR MOTHER. I DON’T TAKE THE PAPER AND I GET IT FROM PARENTS HOUSE AND READ LATER SO DIDN’T LEARN UNTIL AFTER THE FUNERAL. I KNOW YOU WILL MISS YOUR MOTHER A GREAT DEAL. YOU ARE BEING THOUGHT OF AND REMEMBERED.
