Emma Jean Modisette
Emma Jean Modisette passed away peacefully on October 31, 2017 at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, Texas with her loving niece Carolynn Givens by her side. Emma who was fondly called “Jeanie”, was born November 7, 1947 in Muskegon, Michigan. She graduated from Muskegon Heights Public Schools and Muskegon Community College.    She retired after 35 years of service as the Office Manager at Muskegon Heights High School. She was known for her kind spirit, helping students and planning the best formal events ever. Emma accepted Christ at an early age at Beulah Baptist Church and fellowshipped her adult years while living in Muskegon at Holy Trinity C.O.G.I.C.  Upon her retirement, she moved to Dallas, Texas seeking a warmer climate. She was preceded in death by her parents Mr. and Mrs. Joseph (Ophelia) Modisette, Sr and her loving brother Joseph Modisette, Jr. Emma is survived by three sisters Stella Givens, Alice Burt and Christine Grimmett and one brother William J. Modisette.  Additionally, she has a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A private memorial service will be held in California at a later date. The Modisette Family wishes to thank everyone for your heart felt condolences.

  1. To the family of dear, Emma Modisette: I graduated with Emma & then, later in life…..and before moving to Texas, we befriended one another. She was truly a loving person & I know I shall see her again, in Heaven!
