Burleson–Elizabeth Josephine Benton, 78, passed away at 10:10 p.m. November 17, 2010, at Emery J. Lilge Hospice House, in Burleson, TX. Funeral: 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec. 3, at the Mayfield Kiser Funeral Home, Fort Worth, TX. Interment will be at Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 2 with a rosary service at 7:30 p.m at the funeral home. Memorials: Contributions may be made to Community Hospice of Texas Emery J. Lilge Hospice House, Burleson, TX. She was born February 11, 1932 in Carbondale, IL to Gilbert and Linnie (Miller) Menteer. She married Everett L. Benton on October 16, 1954. Elizabeth worked as a telephone operator in Carbondale, IL, a baker at Manual High School in Peoria, IL and a tech at Huguley Hospital in Burleson, TX. She loved to sew, quilt, and was a member of the St. Ann quilting group. She was a wonderful inspiration to her family and will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers and two sisters. Survivors: Elizabeth is survived by her 7 children: David (Patti) of Flower Mound, TX, Matthew of Burleson, TX, Anne (Jim) Baughman of Fullerton, CA, Robert (Dawn) of Hillsboro, OR, James (Cathie) of Kingsland, GA, Jeffrey (Kim) of Hanna City, IL, Tina (Jim) Wikoff of Peoria, IL; 15 grandchildren: Matthew Jr. (Cathy), Michael, Nicole, Wesley, Joshua, Zachary, Amanda, Nicholas, Drew, Kristin, Tyler, Shelby, Sarah, Austin, and Rachel; two great-grandchildren: Kylie and John; one sister Anna Mae Smith of Carbondale, IL, and several nieces and nephews.
