Elaine Abbott Donohue passed away peacefully on August 12, 2018 in Fort Worth, TX. She was born on October 9, 1935 in El Paso, TX. She was 82 years old. Elaine graduated from El Paso High School in 1953. She attended Texas Western and graduate in 1957. Elaine married her high school sweetheart, John W Donohue, Jr., in 1958. They lived in El Paso most of their lives. Elaine taught school in the El Paso Independent School District. Most of her teaching career was at Mac Arthur Elementary where she taught Kindergarten. She retired from teaching after a 25 year career. Elaine was very active in many organizations, she was a member of Chapter AJ P.E.O-past president, El Paso Junior League, UTEP Women’s Auxiliary, Discover El Paso, Zeta Tau Alpha Alumni, UTEP Alumni Association, El Paso Symphony Guild, Vice President of the P.E.O Council, Chairman of her High School reunion committee, Committee member of the Year of the Tiger Reunion, Committee member of the El Paso High School Centennial Reunion, past member of BSF bible class, active member of many bible classes and a lifelong member of St Patrick’s Cathedral. She was an avid traveler who had traveled all over the world. She loved to read, quilt, cross stitch, and do jigsaw puzzles. Predeceased by her husband, John in 1991; her parents Herman H and Margaret Abbott. Survived by her Daughter Lori Tooley (Keith),Burleson, TX ,her grandsons Tyler and Brady Tooley, brother in law, Pool Webb, Midland, TX ; brother in law, Rusty Donohue(Hollie),Amarillo, TX, sister in law Sharon Donohue, Houston, TX; nieces, nephews, cousins and her little dog Abbie Memorial Services will be Saturday, August 25th at 10:30am at St Patrick’s Cathedral, El Paso, TX. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society.
