Edward Mayfield
Edward Mayfield passed away on Monday, September 21 at his beloved home in the historic Fairmont district of Fort Worth. Service: 3 p.m. Friday, October 2, 2015 at the Baylor All Saints Chapel. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Edward’s name to the organization in which he cared for so deeply: All Saints Health Foundation 1400 8th Ave. FW 76104. Born August 11, 1955, Edward was a collector of antiquities and a voracious reader. His home library was to be envied. He loved to do crossword puzzles and traveled as often as he could. He also dabbled at book editing. He had worked for 42 years at All Saints Hospital (now Baylor All Saints) before retiring last fall. Edward started as a pharmacy technician, but soon got his degree in accounting and moved into that arena. Always good with numbers, he quickly became efficient at computers and taught himself how to write computer programs. His last years at All Saints were in the IT department. He was enjoying retirement when he was taken from us so suddenly. He was a true friend to many and was predeceased by his parents Carl Mayfield and Alice Travers and two siblings Larry Mayfield and Ann Gonterman. Survivors: nephew, Larry Mayfield, Jr.; brother, Bryan Mayfield; stepmother, Dianna Mayfield and various other nieces and nephews.
