Deloris Irene Fry Nilson
Born November 25, 1933 to Joseph Issac and Alma Elizabeth Fry, Deloris Irene Fry grew up in northeastern Oklahoma and was quite proud of her Cherokee Indian heritage. In 1951 after completing high school she married Thomas Franklin Adkins and gave life to three sons; David Wayne Adkins of Round Rock, Texas, Carl Dane Adkins of Mountain Home, Arkansas, and Thomas Lane Adkins of Burleson, Texas. She later married Alvah Albert Nilson and continued to raise her three boys into manhood. “Granny” was first a good daughter, then mom, grandmother, and great grandmother. She proved to always be a great friend and hostess always providing for the needs of her guests. Deloris is survived by her late life partner Lester Stanford of Burleson, three sons David, Carl, and Tom; three granddaughters Melissa, Alicia, and Tracy, as well as two great grand children Emma and Jet and their entire families. Memorial services are planned for 2:00 pm on April 25, 2014 at the First United Methodist Church in Burleson. There will be a reception forgoing the service for gathered family and friends.

  7. Deloris was the best mother in law. She taught me how to play Scrabble. She, Irene and I would play scrabble all night. 3 day weekends were spent with her and JC Boyles. She was a good friend.
