Whitney–Graveside services for David Gorman, 61, of Whitney, will be held at Cope Cemetery at 3:00 PM, Friday, April 30, 2004, with Pastor Alan Lane officiating. David Gorman, a boxing manager, passed away on Wednesday, April 28, 2004, in Whitney, Texas. He was born March 18, 1943, the son of Elvis and Virginia Gorman. He married Loretta Timmons, January 16, 1960, in Fort Worth, Texas. He was preceded in death by one son, Mike. He is survived by his wife, Loretta Gorman, of Whitney; son, David Gorman, Jr. and wife, Becky, of Joshua; daughter, Cindy Irvin and husband, Mark, of Godley;

I. knew David and his family in the 1950’s when he was just a boy. His older brother, Meredith, was a long time friend & I also knew Otis Larry. Joe was a baby at the time.
David was always quiet & didn’t talk much, I always wondered what he was thinking . I believe people underestimated him!
It’s a personal tragedy to me that so many of them are gone, several, like David, quite young.
I still think of their house on Bryan street. I’m sure someone lives there now, but, to me it seems empty.
My condolences come late but maybe that shows just how much and how fondly we remember David and his family. I will remember them always.
