Alvarado, TX– Darla Fay Hughes, 63, passed away Monday, October 10, 2022. She was born November 13, 1958. SHE WILL BE MISSED & REMEMBERED BY ALL WHO KNEW HER. She is survived by her mother Rosie and Arno Echtermeyer, brother Charles Hughes, sister Geneva Dawson, her children Toby, Shannon, and Alicia Weatherford, and her grandchildren Mikie, Layla, Kilee and Chloe.

Ms. Darla was my daughter’s school bus driver. Believe when I say ALL those kids on bus 15 are missing Ms. Darla. She was good to our kids and for that I am thankful. I pray for peace and understanding for y’all during this time. Fly high Ms. Darla, you deserve those wings.
Darla will be missed at work terribly. She was full of sass and grit. She loved all the kids on her bus. She would arrive early at the first school so they could discuss what was going on at school, in the world or at home. She was one of a kind. Prayers to all of her loved ones for peace and comfort. Hoot hoot Darla!
I feel lost without Darla she always had kind words for me when I felt down,it’s hard

I miss you so much it’s still unbelievable. You were a very wonderful friend.
I worked with Darla for 8 years. She was a great person, always laughing! She enjoyed driving a bus and her students! She is missed by all!
