Carter William Stump 65, Venus TX, Formerly of Beckley WV. Passed away at Methodist Mansfield Hospital on December 12th from a 7 year battle of cancer. Born 12/23/53 to the late Henry and Eula Stump of Honaker VA. In addition to his parents he was proceeded in death by his brothers Ralph and Charlie Stump. Survived by his wife Sharon Stump of 31 years Son Christopher (Asa) Stump Daughter Gloria (Dallas) Hylton. Grandsons Kayden, Brayden and Colton Stump Pawpaw’s 3 Heroes. Granddaughter’s Brittany( Aaron) Weaver, Jami Hylton, Hayley Hylton. Great Grandson Wyatt Weaver. Siblings Bonnie(Bubby) Hess, Marie( Richard) Price, Dora Mae (Roger) Fields, Henry Stump, Judy Stiltner, Lewis( Kim) Stump, many nieces and nephews. Special friends Mason Farmer and Ronnie Cooper. Carter worked 42 years for Massey Energy/ Alpha at Republic Energy. A member of Clifftop Missionary Baptist Church in Beaver WV. A Memorial will be held in the Spring at Clifftop Church.

My dear friend Sharon, I wish I had known Carter, but I feel I have thru you. Seeing Carters and your smiling faces in pictures, you both watching those three heroes, and being with your son, to name a few, are all priceless! May God give you peace that your dear Carter is now with the Lord and no longer suffering, and strength to take each day a step at a time. Love and prayers my dear, dear Sharon.

Prayers for God’s peace and comfort for your family … I’ve known Carter for years from delivering product to the high wall miner.. my son Steve worked for him for years..I’ve always enjoyed talking with him… Mike Keeney and family ..
I worked for Carter at Progress for 10 years, I started as a red hat and then worked as an Electrician for 9 years. Carter always treated me well and was considered a friend. My condolences to the family, Carter was a fine man and will be missed.

Carter was my uncle through marriage of his first wife Linda. I grew up beside him and all I remember is how hard working he was. He was always working in the mines and would have to pull over and sleep before getting home. He was a very good man. Condolences to my cousin Gloria (and Family) and to his wife Sharon (and Family).
Sharon, I know I’ve told you that I’m so sorry and that I wish I could take some of the pain away. I will be here anytime you might need me and I love you so much!
