MANSFIELD — Billie Marie Prater, 50, passed away Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at home, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Memorial Service: 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church, Mansfield. Memorials: May be made to the family, in lieu of flowers, to help with medical expenses.
Billie was born on May 19, 1962 in Cleburne, Texas to Ernest Sims Jr. and Katy Pearson Sims. She was a member of New Beginnings Missionary Baptist Church. She was proud to be the youth ministers wife, and took great care in the meal preparation and menu planning for the Church. Billie also worked for the Mansfield ISD as a food nutritionist and enjoyed planning and cooking for the children. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Billie is preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors: Husband of 25 years, Waymon; daughter, Shanda Bennett; son, Kurt Rupprecht Jr.; niece, Shelly Noble; five grandchildren, Alex Niblett, Madyson Rupprecht, Ayden Bear, Amber Bennett and Kayson Rupprecht; sisters, Kathy Sims Parker, Brenda Mullins, Linda Noble and Kelly Rios.
