Beverly Jean Gifford
CLEBURNE — Beverly Gifford, 71, passed away on Oct. 30, 2012. Memorial Service: 3 p.m. Saturday at Burleson SDA Church. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Mayfield Kiser Funeral Home. Beverly Gifford was born in Ottawa, Illinois, on September 10,1941, to Robert and Vera Troyer. On August 18,1963, she married Steve Gifford at Union College, Lincoln, NE. Her husband became a minister, which took the young couple to several locations in the United States. Three sons were born to this union -Trent, who is now a salesman, Jon, who is a registered nurse, and Michael, who is an anesthesiologist. She became a registered nurse, earning her BSN and a Master’s degree. Beverly became director of medical-surgical nursing at a Riverside, CA hospital. The Giffords next moved to Texas, where Beverly was director of nursing at 2 different Ft. Worth nursing homes. She had heart surgery in 2008 and 2010, and seemed to be doing O.K. until October 30, when her heart stopped functioning. Survivors: husband of 49 years, Steve; sons and their families, a brother John Troyer, and 2 sisters; Patricia Reiner and Marilyn Russell.
