Bernard Cousens Jr (Skippy)
Bernard Leon Cousens Jr (Skippy), age 50, passed away on Thursday, July 18, 2024. He was born on July 15, 1974, in New London, Connecticut. He was survived by his wife, Penny Cousens, four children, Paige Cousens, Derrick Evans-Vincent, Heaven Evans-Vincent, and Roslynn Atkinson, three grandchildren, Isaiah Evans-Vincent, Aurora Evans-Vincent, and Damin Sigler, two brothers, Jeffrey Zimmerman and Jeremy Zimmerman, Mother Toni McGirr and her fiancé Billy Posey. He was predeceased by Father Bernard Cousens Sr. He graduated from Robert E. Fitch Sr High School in 1992. He went on to Ridley-Lowell and got an associate degree in computer science. It was here 25 years ago where he met his wife, Penny. Following college, he got a job as a Systems Engineer. He enjoyed being silly and clowning around. In his spare time, he enjoyed camping and spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. His family were the most important thing in his life. He had a very kind heart and a quick wit and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. Skippy’s Celebration of Life will be Saturday August 17, 2024, at Dinoto Funeral Home, 17 Pearl St, Mystic, CT 06355 Hours will be 9am-10am family only, 10am-12pm everyone is welcomed.
