John Anthony (Pops) Carrabba
John Anthony (Pops) Carrabba, 69.Former Dallas, Duncanville and Arlington resident, John Anthony Carrabba, 69, of Burleson, TX, passed away Friday Aug. 23, 2013, surrounded by his loving family at The Granbury Care Center in Granbury, TX. Per the wishes of Mr. Carrabba, there will be no services held. Cremation service will be performed by Mayfield Kiser Funeral home, Fort Worth, TX. Mr. Carrabba was born Jan. 27, 1944, in Dallas, Tx., to John Carrabba (Big John), of Dallas and Iva Mae Young (Ivy) of Hillsboro. He was a graduate of South Oak Cliff H.S. in 1960. Mr Carrabba was married to Kathy Lee Bradley, of Wichita Falls, on Oct. 9, 1982, and had two children from a previous marriage, Kim and Tony. Miss Bradley also had a child, Jason, from a previous marriage. Mr. Carrabba spent his early years as a mechanic, and owned and operated service stations in the Dallas area. John was a sales professional for most of his life. He also worked and retired from Sears, most recently with their Craftsman Industrial Tool Sales department. John owned a landscape and uniform sales company at various times. He was a hard working friendly soul, who always stayed with a job until its completion. John was the epitome of a good citizen and neighbor, who made friends wherever he went. John was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. In retirement, he enjoyed working in his yard in Burleson, spending time with his grandchildren, and antiquing. He is survived in life by his loving wife Kathy Lee (Jeter) Carrabba of Burleson, daughter and son-in-law, Kim and Bart Cantwell of Whitney; son Jason William Bradley and his Husband Jeremiah Bova of Burleson, son John Anthony Carrabba Jr. (Tony) of Dallas; grandchildren, Rachael Ivy Cantwell and her fiancé Joshua Hunt, Magen Christine Sutton and husband Matthew, and Randy Cantwell, all of Whitney, Joseph Kelly and Jonah Carrabba, both of Dallas; great grandchildren Talyn Rimmic and Kendall Nichole (Baby girl), both of Whitney. Mr. Carrabba was preceded in death by his mother Iva Mae, and his father John Carrabba Safe travels my friend
