Gregory Carlin Hooker
Gregory Carlin Hooker of Waxahachie, Texas, passed away peacefully at his home on January 16, 2025, at the age of 58, surrounded by his loving family. Greg, also affectionately known as Taz by some, was born on May 10, 1966, in Dallas, Texas, to Jerry and Barbara Hooker. He graduated from H. Grady Spruce High School in Dallas and also attended the Law Magnet program there during his high school years. He lived life with a sense of adventure, enjoying fun and excitement, and sometimes getting into a little bit of mischief along the way. He was an avid lover of art, music, and motorcycles, which brought him great joy. He also loved to talk about his life, from his childhood through his last few days. He was one of the best storytellers. He leaves behind is beloved children, Kayla Strain and spouse Brody Strain, Lainey Hooker, Kiefer Hooker and spouse Destinee Hooker; grandchildren, Kameryn Deal, Brendan Red, Jackson Red, Aidan Goodman; mother, Barbara Hooker; brother, Jerry Hooker and spouse Andrea Hooker; sister, Sherry Hunter; nieces, Amber Hooker, Kimberly Hooker, Alta Hunter; and many other family members and friends. He is proceeded in death by his granddaughter, Addyson Deal; father, Jerry Hooker; sister, Teresa Hooker; and niece, Meagan Hooker. A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 1, 2025 at 11:00am at Hillcrest Baptist Church located at 265 W Pleasant Run Rd, Cedar Hill, Texas 75104.
