William “Bill” Marlin Godwin was born March 10, 1965 in Garland, Texas to William Glenn Godwin and Delores Jane Godwin and joined a brother William Scott Godwin. He passed away on November 28, 2024. He graduated from East Texas State in 1988 with a bachelor’s degree. Bill then went to truck driving school and found his true talent. Bill could parallel park a 18 wheeler like nobody’s business. Bill was such a hard worker, he always took pride in his work and his coworkers and his customers always loved him. Bill was the kindest, thoughtful, laid back, caring, most loving man. I got the honor the become his wife and we shared 20 plus years together. We had a yours, mine and ours family and he loved each and every one so much and they loved him. Ryan, Clay, Kayla, Cheyenne, Payten and Shayne were so blessed to have him as was I. Our grandbabies, Harley, Malaya, Lily, Saxon, Elly, James and Sage were such a joy in his life. Bill was such a good and Godly man and he is now with all his loving family members that went before him. Oh, how Nanny Ramsey welcomed him in heaven I’m sure. He always had the best stories of going to her and his Papaws house and being with all his Uncles and playing with his cousins. He was loved deeply by his sister and brother -in-law Linda and John. Bill and John both loved John Wayne and oh the westerns they watched. He loved to talk sports and smack with Bubba about the Dallas Cowboys and The Longhorns. He loved his “Carolyn” and that was always his special name for her. He was always on messenger talking to Cheyenne and giving her good Daddy advice. He always had his “eye” on his Tootie. Shayne was and always will be his “little boy” that he loved to talk military with and he was proud of Clay for striking out on his own in a new state. To me, his wife, Laura, he was the love of my life…he always said we were better together and that was so true. We raised our big beautiful family and went on so many adventures and we loved each other like no other. Rest in peace my love…I will see you again in eternity. I will always love you MY BILLY!!!
