Jerry Lynn Bowen
Denton, TX – Jerry Lynn Bowen died peacefully in his sleep after a courageous battle with Kidney Disease, on November 23, 2024 in Carrollton. He was born on May 31, 1955 in Denton, TX. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, a son and a step-daughter. Jerry is survived by his wife, Kimberly A Bowen, his children, Sherry Gassaway Phillips, Monisha Clark, Jerry Manuel, Cecsely Bowen, Christopher Pepper, his step-children, Andrew Tullao and Krystal White, his many grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews. He will be missed by many other family members and friends. Jerry and Kimberly were married in May 2000. They lived in Denton where they raised their blended family. Jerry was a City of Denton employee until his retirement in 2008. He loved to play sports and was a member on several softball teams while with the City of Denton. A balloon release celebration of Jerry’s life will be held at Lake Ray Roberts in Sanger, TX at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation in Jerry’s name to the National Kidney Foundation.

  1. Jerry was a good man. He would have given you the shirt off his back and anything else if possible. He was a great husband to my dear friend Kim for many years. Jerry will be missed dearly. RIP Jerry Love you always!!!!!!

Dear Grandpa I am very proud you fought your battles I am so grateful you took care of my mom and made her into a better person I am very proud that she is my mom and I am proud how you took care of her and you made her into a beautiful smart bright young lady and that she grew up built her own house brick by brick has a family has kids makes great food and I am grateful you taught her well my mom has 4+ kids and she makes sure that we grow up well and get a life and go to college and finish school she is the best mom I could have ever asked for you raised a child that grew up and made good choices and got a life your daughter works very hard and even tho she has tight plans she always finds a way to make plans for us kids or she takes us out to spend time with us she loves us very much and she puts a roof over our head and puts food on the table for us she is the best mom ever and she is the best daughter you could ever raised I am proud of you grandpa this is kyndra and I am 12 now going on to 13 I will miss you grandpa and I hope you rest peacefully I hope you have a great time up there make beautiful pink sky’s for us so we can think of you love you and say hello to aunt BB for me loves and kisses!!! 💕
