Charles Randall Lowe
Charles Randall Lowe, born June 1st 1961, passed away on September 8th 2024 after a sudden illness. Randy was born in Pasadena,Texas to parents Gordon and Jan Lowe. Randy lived in many places between Texas and Oklahoma during his youth. He graduated from Deer Park High School in 1979. He then joined the U S Navy, where he served as a Corpsman, stationed at Oak Knoll Naval Hospital. In 1983 he met his future wife, Shannon. They married in 1986 in Newark, Ca. In 1990, Randy and Shannon welcomed their first child, Robyn, into the world, and son John in 1991. In 1997, the family made the move to Merkel, Tx, until moving to Abilene in 2018. In 2020, granddaughter Rory was born, promoting Randy to ‘ Grandy ‘, a role that he was made for. He loved her endlessly. Randy had a love for the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, especially when hanging out with his kids. Jeeping was a way of life when the kids were little, only to have it come full circle as they became adults, getting to spend time rock crawling. His smile would light the room, and his laugh was contagious. Randy was a very loyal person, always going out of his way to lend a hand. Know that if you were his friend, he would be there for you. Randy is preceded in death by his mother, Jan Nelson, father, Gordon Lowe, grandparents, John T. and Susie Lowe, grandparents Lloyd and Fairy Pribble, and brothers Glenn Lowe and Gregg Lowe. He is survived by his wife Shannon, daughter Robyn, son John and daughter in law Ashley, along with granddaughter Rory, sister Christy Henley and brother in law David, Uncle Glenn & Aunt Henrietta Lowe, Aunt Glenda and husband Jim, Father in law Jim Nelson, along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Randy has requested to be cremated with a Celebration of Life , with a day to be set at a later date.

  1. Randy was one of the greatest friends ever. He will be missed immensely by me and many others. This was and still is truly a shock to me. God take care of him and his family and friends. Until we meet again.

  2. Randy was more than a friend to me—he was a mentor who shared his passion for off-roading and life. His laughter and kindness made every adventure unforgettable. Kim and I will miss him deeply, but his spirit will always be with us on every trail.

  3. It was a shock to hear of Randy’s passing. He was a great guy! He had a great laugh. He was so patient when teaching me on the trails. I am truly thankful for that and all he taught me. I have great memories of him and our time on the trails. I’ll think of him often when off-roading ❤️

  4. Randy was a great friend. He visited Wayne several times when he was in the hospital for six weeks, just came by to hang out. It didn’t matter how long it’d been since you saw him, everything picked right back up. Let all he wonderful memories help you through this difficult time❤️

  5. Randy was also an off-roading mentor to me and my family. We’re truly lucky to have enjoyed a trip to Moab with him, making memories that we’ll forever cherish.

  6. Randy was my cousin and he lived with us for little while when I was 7 a8 years old to help my mom while my dad was working in Alaska. He was a big brother to me when I needed it most, I will never forget that. God speed Randy and give your dad a big hug for me.

  7. I’ve know Randy a real long time, he’s married to my longest best friend Shannon. We camped, 4-wheeled, had week night dinners together with them. So many great memories shared in all these years. He will be missed by so many, but the memories will remain.

  9. Randy was the rare kind of friend that everyone wanted. He was always there if you were in need and always one of the first to volunteer to help. His smile and laughter were contagious and always at the perfect time to lift anyone’s spirits. I will truly miss you brother but will never forget you!
