Joyce Jackson was born October 13, 1944 and went to be with the Lord at home in her sleep on August 30, 2024. Joyce was born in Sparta, Tennessee and moved to Winchester, Indiana as a young child. She spent her childhood there and enjoyed swimming and adventures to The Bear Tree in the park. She often dreamed of Elvis Presley driving into town and sweeping her off her feet. Joyce married her high school sweetheart , Jerry Jackson of Saratoga, Indiana in 1962. They had one child, Heath. They moved to Fort Collins, Colorado in 1969, and she began working for Teledyne-WaterPik. She worked at Teledyne for 30 years. Joyce and Jerry moved to Texas in 1999 after she retired. She began her second career in childcare a couple years later when she began to work in a daycare in Granbury. They later moved to Weatherford, and she began working at Sunshine Station, where she greeted children and their parents every morning for the last 11 years. She was “Grandma” to hundreds of her babies until the day before she became ill. Joyce was loved and respected by her family and friends throughout her life. Her no-nonsense approach to life and her genuine care for others endeared her to many. She will be missed. Joyce is survived by her son, Heath Jackson and his wife, Mary, of Weatherford, Texas. She is also survived her granddaughters Bethany Jackson and Genevieve Jackson of Weatherford, and grandson Caleb Jackson and his wife, Naomi, of Euless, Texas. She is also survived by two great grandchildren, Violet and Cobalt Kuby. Joyce is also survived by her brothers Don (Malinda) Harvey and Rick Harvey of Winchester, Indiana and her sister Judy (Bill) Cox also of Winchester. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Joyce was a beautiful woman with the sweetest, calming voice. She was indeed a woman of substance. I will miss her face.
