John David Smith, a beloved family man, passed away peacefully on August 28th at the age of 67. He was born on December 9th, 1956, in Pasadena, Texas. He was proceeded in death by his parents Ida Mae Smith and Donald F. Smith. Brother Tom Smith, Sister Pamela Smith, and Sister-in-law Missy Smith. John is survived by his wife Jaquline Smith, his children Julie Langston, Shelley Wilkins (Jeremy) Chelsey Smith (Billy) Stepchildren Wil Markwood (Grisel), Casey Kainer (Cassie), Corey Kainer (Sarah), Don Meisner and John Snow. Grandchildren Kylie, Cole, Ethan, Braeden, Gunnar, Riley, Alastair, Emma and Elanor, brother Roger Smith and sister Elizabeth Smith, numerous nieces and nephews, a countless number of relatives and friends that truly loved him. John spent many years as a skilled truck driver, where his precision and dedication were admired by colleagues and clients alike. His career in air conditioning industry was marked by a steadfast work ethic and genuine care for those he served. John’s expertise and reliability and maintenance were hallmarks of his professional life, and he took great pride in ensuring that his work contributed to the comfort and wellbeing of others. Outside of work, John was a devoted family man, loved the outdoors and had a passion for fishing and broke many records. He enthusiastically supported his grandchildren in whatever they were involved in, as in, sporting events, graduations, birthdays etc… He cherished time spent with his loved ones and was a pillar of support and encouragement to his family. His warmth, generosity, and willingness to lend a helping hand extended far beyond his immediate circle, touching the lives of those around him. John’s active kindness was numerous, often performed quietly and without fanfare, reflecting his deep-seeded belief in the importance of helping others. A celebration of life will be held on October 6th, from 12 to 2pm at Joe Pool Lake, 3401 Ragland Rd. Grand Prairie, Tx 75052, Loyd Park – Pavilion H.
