Born May 18th, 1966, Michael McDaniel left this world August 23rd , 2024 after a hard fought battle with pancreatic cancer. He was preceded in death by his father, Jim Kennedy. He is survived by his Mother- Janice, Bonus Father- Terry, Wife- Rashel ,Son- Zach, Daughter in law- Whitley, Grandson- Sylas, Brother- Cass, Bonus Father- L.H. Born to his parents in Glendale, California he spent much of his younger days in the sunshine state before relocating to Burleson Texas at the age of 10, where he would live out the remainder of his days. He married Rashel Hanna in 1987 and they had their only son in 1988. Mike and Rashel remained happily married to this day. Mike was a part of Burleson high-school’s graduating class of 84’ where he served as quarter back of the highschool football team. One of his favorite highlights was their defeat over Crowley where he scored over 20 touchdowns. This number of touchdowns suspiciously seemed to grow in size every time the story was shared. Mike was absolutely fascinated by the ocean and was always drawn to the translucent waters of the Caribbean. The calming crystal clear waters offered up a tranquility that seemed to ever so gracefully mirror his cool demeanor and offered his soul a sense of peace on earth. He spent countless hours playing his guitar and was an unmatched showman on stage where his love for the blues passionately resonated and electrified all who were in attendance. Above all else, he enjoyed spending as much time as possible with his close friends and family. You knew when you spent time with him that you were guaranteed to share many heartfelt laughs due to his quick wit, laid back personality and natural ability to make those nearest to him smile. He was always willing to lend a hand or an ear for a friend in need, intently listening and offering up heartfelt advice that personified a grounded wisdom well beyond his years. Even during his last few days on earth as death became ever so imminent he bore no ill will, no anger and no resentment. He instead wore a smile and spoke a calm, sincere apology for not being able to stay a little bit longer. A brother to all, a friend to the world, and our favorite guy. He truly was one of a kind. To quote the late great Jim Morrison – “ I hope you went out smiling like a child, slipping into the cool remnant of a dream “ A special thank you to Bo and Catie Colley as well as the team at Halo Hospice. Their unmatched care and compassion was an absolute blessing during this very difficult time.
