Jonathan David Ledet Sr.
Jonathan David Ledet Sr. , affectionatly known as Joan, peacefully departed from this life Monday, August 19, 2024 at the age of 46 in Fort Worth, Tx. He was born September 12, 1977 to the late Alfred Ledet of New Iberia, LA and Rosilyn Ann Berry Ledet of New Orleans, LA. He is survived by his children – Ros’Joan D. Ledet , Jonathan David Ledet Jr. , Ra’Sha K. Ledet, Traiten Lanthier, Niy’Hara J. Ledet and Jonlisa Ledet ; grandchildren Jadas K. Ledet and Josiah D. Ledet ; brother Lance A. Ledet (Althea) and wife of California, Blanca Ledet. Also survived by a score of loving family members. Joan graduated from L.B Laundry High School. Soon after, he started working in construction with “Daddy Hamp” where he learned a plethora of skills to prepare him for any job he applied himself to. Conscientious, resilient, lighthearted and sincere are just a few words to describe the persevering life he lived. His head strong personality made him a natural born leader that many trusted and even considered their “hero”. Stubborn at times, he was always willing to learn, grow, do what’s best for family and laugh! There was never a dull moment in his presence (Yeah, get in there!). He made sure to give thanks and find the positivity in any day God allowed us to see. He will be remembered as a humble yet incredibly strong man who’s sole purpose in life was to serve Jehovah and ‘do right by his kids’. He will also be remembered as a no rhythm having, food enthusiast, dog loving, self proclaimed chef that was probably DMX and Tupac’s biggest fan to ever exist! Oh! and let us not forget the way he absolutely adored every second of strolling along California’s beaches. KJV 2 Corinthians 5:8 reminds us – to be absent from the body, is to be present with the Lord. Given life’s unpredictable circumstances, this was very much so an admirable life lived that deserves to be celebrated. To know “Joan” was an undeniable honor. Bless!
