Fort Worth, TX – Thomas Lee Welch, known affectionately as Lee, of Fort Worth, Texas, unexpectedly passed away on August 21, 2024. Born on April 1, 1971, in Lubbock, Texas, Lee attended Ellison High School in Killeen, Texas, and later pursued his studies at Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas. Lee was known for his kindness, loyalty, and passion for animals, especially horses and cats. He was a dedicated Dallas Cowboys football fan and enjoyed a tenured career in retail, including a notable role in store leadership at Blockbuster, a once-legendary icon in the movie film, VHS, and DVD industry. Lee was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Alexander Welch, Jr. He is survived by his mother, Sandra Welch; his sister, Randi Ayars; and his nephew, Sean Ayars. Lee also leaves behind cherished friends who were like family to him, including Dusty McCoy, Justin Greer, and Tina Riegel, among others. Lee’s caring nature, quick-witted sense of humor, and steadfast friendship will be deeply missed by his friends and relatives. A celebration of Lee’s life will be held at Trinity Memorial Park in Big Spring, Texas, on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.
