Doris Jane Bloomquist received her new body in heaven on Sunday, August 18th at 7:15 p.m. With a true passion and commitment, her 97 years on this earth were dedicated to serving God, her family, and others in every aspect of her life. Not only did she provide guidance, prayer, comfort, counsel, and spiritually uplift those around her, she was an excellent cook and nothing expressed her care for others more than the countless, wonderful meals she served. Her sweet rolls, pralines, and roasted pecans are legendary. Her commitment to family spanned her life and was present in everything she did. She enjoyed nothing more than being surrounded by family, including her brothers, sisters (one of which was her twin), nieces, nephews, and friends. She was a devoted wife to her late husband Larry, and her ever present love for her 3 children, 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and her great-great grand-daughter was unwavering. Jane lived an adventurous life in exotic places, surviving a typhoon on Wake Island and sub-zero temperatures in the interior of Alaska. She was a relentless rockhound and never traveled to Colorado without her pick, goldpan, and metal detector. She traveled with her husband to New Zealand, Thailand, Poland, Israel, and other countries, but had a special bond with her spiritual family in Mexico where she once ministered. For the past year she would tell us she was ready for her new body, and felt like she was missing out on what was going on in heaven. With her passing she is once again with those she loved that have gone before her. While we miss her deeply, we are happy she is where she longed to be. She left a beautiful example to guide us, and we find solace and encouragement in knowing that because she is absent from her body, she is present with the Lord (2 Corinthians 5:8).

Beautiful tribute to our Aunt B. We miss her and will always treasure the gift she was to our whole family.
I miss you today and forever, grandma. A bushel and a peck, and a hug around the neck. ♥️
Grandma, how I miss you so much your memories will be forever cherished in my heart and thank you for all the wonderful times we’ve got to spend together and you’ve always made me feel loved. Love you dearly.
Hers was a life well-spent! Aunt B, was a treasure in all our lives, and always demonstrated the heart of Jesus in every situation. Two of the best things she ever taught me was to, “prefer the other”, and “live a life of love”. I’m confident that she was fully satisfied with this life on earth!
What a gift it is to have you as my mom! You made sure we were well-loved, well-nourished, emotionally supported, and always welcomed back home.
You made sure we had wonderful childhood memories full of love, delicious meals, & adventure, and you continued gathering us together to make these memories as adults. Your love of family is immense and your relationship with God a genuine example of walking in the Word. I knew this day would come but I never wanted it to.
I love this picture because I envision you doing the Alpine Slide right into Heaven with that look of pure joy on your face! Enjoy this adventure you waited your whole life to experience, but know that you are greatly missed, and that I still hug your chair, tell you I love you much, and kiss you on top of your head.
What a beautiful tribute and legacy! Love, hugs and prayers to you and your family.🙏🏽🩷
She was a wonderful human being very loving very kind. She will truly be missed by all who knew her. My condolences to her family. May she live in your hearts forever
Wonderful tribute to a truly remarkable woman. Her life of service to God & others will remain her legacy here on earth, but her True Treasure always lay in her eternal home. Your name was finally called Aunt Blackie, & we look so forward to that giant family reunion in Heaven with you!
All my love & prayers Larry & Bethel, Susan, Chuck & Miranda, & to all the grands.♥️
All our live!
