Gary Arlen Rostamo
Gary Arlen Rostamo, a beloved husband, father, grandpa, friend and amazing person went home to be with his Savior on July 27, 2024 in Fort Worth, Texas. Gary found eternal peace after a heroic battle with Alzheimers. Gary (aka Garamo, Garamo Rayvaughn), we love you, will miss you dearly, and will forever hold you dear in our hearts. A celebration of life will ne held on the couple’s 50th wedding anniversary in October 2024. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, the family requests all those that knew and loved him to say a special prayer in his honor and memory so that your prayers will follow him in heaven and for all eternity. Gary was born in Savannah, Georgia on August 11, 1952. He was an Eagle scout who , as a teenager, built a raft with two of his friends and took it from Shreveport, Louisiana to where the Red River met the Missippi River. Gary graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was a registered Professional Engineer in the State of Texas and inventor with two patents. Gary served as a captain in the USAF reserves. His career in the oilfield, defense and restoration businesses took him all over the world. Gary was adventurous, honest and well respected by those that met him. His handshake was his word. He was a great man with a big heart. Gary loved spending time with family and friends, nature, oceans, golfing, camping, scuba diving and snorkeling. Most of all he loved playing his guitar and hanging out with his best friends, Steve, David and Sid. He loved to listen to Texas music and take rides down country roads to get away from it all. Gary was preceded in death by his Mother and Dad, Elaine and Robert (Bob) Rostamo, Best Friend: Sid Johnson; Nephews: Joey Ingram and Michael Fresch; Brother-in-Law: Craig Fresch; and Step Sister: Diane Veiller. Survivors: Gary will be forever remembered by his wife of 49+ years, Robyn Rostamo; Son: Robert Rostamo (Kim); Daughter: Amy Rostamo (John Katchinska); Mothers: Terry M. Rostamo and Jean Judkins; Grandchildten: Sabrina and Aden Fourd; Luke and Logan Rostamo; Brothers: Wayne and Dale Rostamo (Tammy); Best Friends and Brothers: Stephen Monroe (Linda) and David Judkins (Nora); Step Brothers: Vance and Philip Carter; Sister-in-Laws: Carolyn McLellan, Susan Elkington (Kevin), and Debbie Fresch. And many nieces and nephews. The family also wishes to give special thanks to Heart to Heart Hospice and God’s angels on Earth: Grandaughter Sabrina, George, Spencer, Lisa, Tempest, Alyssa, Brent and Lamace for the care, love, and kindness to Gary during his time of need. We will miss your beautiful blue eyes, hugs, kisses, sense of humor, facial expressions and many smiles. You fought for every day. You will always be in our hearts and prayers. We love you forever and always. Rest in peace our beloved weary soldier of God.
