Joyce Marie Hill (Walker), aged 68, passed away on June 30, 2024, in Mansfield, Texas. Born on January 8, 1956, in Austin, Texas, Joyce grew up attending Rosewood Elementary and graduated from Lyndon Baines Johnson High School. Joyce dedicated her career to the medical field as a phlebotomist and was revered for her expertise and passion for training fellow phlebotomists. Beyond her professional life, Joyce was an active member of the Church of God in Christ, where she found great solace and community. She was known for her fun-loving spirit, kindness, and generosity, balanced with a delightful stubbornness that characterized her personal interactions. Joyce relished her time bowling, playing bid whiz, and engaging in games of dominoes. She also cherished singing in a gospel group alongside her sisters, which was a source of great joy and pride. Joyce is survived by her daughter, Olga Hill Davani; grandson, Roman Nwokeafor; sisters, Dianna Baker, Beverly Robinson (Ellis), and Vera Walker; nieces, Artisha Osby and Ellisha Brown (Byron); nephews, James Gross, Terry Montgomery, and Harcell Montgomery (Tenea); along with numerous grand nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Curlee Cleveland and Leroy Walker; niece, Candis Gross-Boston; grand niece, Rashida Gross; and long-time partner of 38 years, Ickford Marsh. Joyce’s life was a testament to her strong will, loving nature, and the deep bonds she formed with those around her. She will be remembered fondly and missed deeply by her family, friends, and all who knew her.

You will be missed cousin! I’m so glad you were able to attend my 60th Birthday Celebration last year and we had several conversations prior to your passing. This is a road everyone of us will travel down. Im glad that my heart and life is fixed on aligning up with the Lord! You can now rest cousin. ❤️🙏🥰🤗
