Ickford Alfred Marsh was born on September 1, 1945 in English Harbour, Antigua to the late Mrs. Gwendolyn Beatrice Marsh Horsford and Binton Montgomery Marsh. He spent his early years and young adulthood in Antigua and St. Croix, where he showcased his talent as an avid Cricket player and honed his career in carpentry and brick masonry. Mr. Marsh moved to Houston, Texas in 1982, where he continued to work in the construction industry on major projects along the Louisiana-Texas Gulf Coast, through retirement. He spent his last ten years as a retired resident of Mansfield, Texas. His hobbies and interests included Bingo and domino games, WWE wrestling, NFL football, Martial Arts Theater, cooking, listening to Bob Marley, Otis Redding, and Sam Cooke, talking to family and friends (especially every Sunday), and spending time with his grandson, Roman. The Lord called Mr. Marsh (78) home after a very short battle with cancer on Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at 10:15 pm. Welcoming him home are his parents, Gwendolyn Beatrice Marsh Horsford and Binton Montgomery Marsh, siblings, Kensley Marsh, Wilbert Marsh, and Kenroy Horsford, and stepfather, Samuel Horsford. Cherishing the memory of Ickford A. Marsh are his children: Reginald Pedro Marsh, Shirvon Marsh, Andrea Marsh, and Olga Davani, 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren, brothers: Novel Carbon, Morrison Horsford, Bobby (Monica) Horsford, Fitzroy Marsh, Ishmael Marsh, Bernard Marsh, Aurdane Marsh, Wilmouth Marsh, Broyce Marsh, Clauthfield Marsh, and Glenroy Marsh, sisters: Stephanie Walker, Gean Horsford, Janice (Pablo) Zamudio, Carol (Ralston) Nicholas, Marilyn Jones, Beatrice Marsh, Acyntha Marsh, and Dulcina Marsh, longtime partner of 38 years: Joyce Hill, and a host of nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends. A special thanks goes to the staff at Mansfield Medical Lodge for their care and support of Mr. Marsh. He was loved and an incredible human being to be around, and he will be missed by all who knew him.
