Jan Marie Swennes, 76, of Grand Prairie, Texas, passed away on May 20, 2024. Jan was born on August 14, 1947 to Robert Havey Swennes and Frances Evans Swennes in Eugene, Oregon. She grew up in El Paso, Texas where she graduated from Irving High School in 1965. Jan went on to earn her Registered Nurse license in 1967, then went on to study nursing at the University of Texas at El Paso. After graduating with a Bachelor of Science Degreen in Nursing, she joined the Presbyterian Hospital System in Albuquerque, New Mexico. In 2010, she retired after more than 40 years in nursing. In 1979, Jan met Alton Hupert Crabb at El Paso. Jan and Alton went on to adopt two children, Stephen and Jackie, in 1981. Jan spent her retirement years connecting with friends on social media, and spending time with her dogs. She loved watching birds and wearing pink and blue clothes to keep her cheery. She also loved ladybugs. Jan was predeceased by her father, mother, and younger brother. She is survived by her husband Alton, her brother Rob, and her son Stephen and his wife Kayti and her daughter Shayna. She is also survived by her grandchildren Frankie, Shayne, Devan, Michael, and Alexandra. There will be a gathering to pay respects to family and friends held at the Wright Senior Apartments Common Room on June 1, 2024 at 2PM.
