Patricia Lee Pace
Our beloved Patricia (Patty) Lee Pace of Ft. Worth, TX passed away on Friday, May 10, 2024. Patricia was born on March 15, 1924, in Oklahoma City, OK, the daughter of Sydney Pace and Catherine Lasby Pace. She had two sisters, Carolyn Jane (Pace) Mitchell and Kay (Clark) Millhorn. Patty was a child of the Great Depression and the Dustbowl. The hard-scrabble era was relieved by frequent visits—along with her sisters—to her grandparents Oasis Ranch located in Cache, Oklahoma. Patty loved to tell stories of her times at Papa Jack’s and Minnie’s working ranch. She ventured to Ft. Worth in the late 1930’s and reamined there for the bulk of her career. During the war era she cheered the troops as a hostess at the USO. This experience led to a lifelong devotion to competitive ballroorm dancing—at which she excelled. She was office manager for Precision Aircraft for decades. In addition, Patty generously fostered her mother—Catherine—for many years. Three years ago Patricia moved to Martin Crest Assisted Living in Weatherford, TX where she passed peacefully shortly after her 100th birthday. Patricia Pace is survived by 3 nephews: Brett Mitchell, Tom Millhorn, and Jim Millhorn, and a niece,Susie Murray, and cousin Sharon Redman, as well as their spouses, children, and grandchildren. Memorials may be made in the name of Patricia Lee Pace to the charity of the donor’s choice.
