Daniel Martin Morales
Denton, TX: Daniel Martin Morales passed away in his home on the evening of April, 23, 2024. He was born in Charleston, WV on December 11, 1961 to Dr. Andres Morales and Mrs. Jeannette Morales. Daniel, or “Danny” as he was known to friends and family, was the fourth eldest of seven children and the third eldest son. Danny spent most of his childhood in Odessa, TX where he attended Permian High School. He later went on to attend MIT in Boston, MA before transferring to Baylor University in Waco, TX. At Baylor, Daniel met the love of his life, Dana McCarty of Houston, TX in 1981. On May 17, 1986, Daniel and Dana were happily married surrounded by friends and family. After their honeymoon, Daniel went on to attend officer candidate school to become a flight officer for the US Navy. Their first of two daughters, Kristen, was born in a naval hospital in Florida in 1987, and their second daughter, Andrea, was born in a naval hospital in Washington in 1990. As his daughters grew, Daniel realized he wanted to have more time with his family and also wanted to pursue his dream of teaching, so he and his family relocated to Texas. Daniel was a dedicated and well-loved teacher for about a decade, educating at both high school and middle school levels for science, before deciding to become a Vascular Technician. Daniel worked as a RVT for over 20 years in the Denton area; his dedication, attention to detail, as well as his excellent bedside manner will be remembered by many patients and colleagues alike. Daniel loved music and was skilled in learning the ins and outs of many different instruments, but especially the guitar and coronet. He enjoyed spending time with his family and especially his beloved cats, and loved all things science fiction and fantasy, especially Marvel and Star Wars. He also loved going on a great many road trips with his family and riding his motorcycle when he could on these trips. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandchildren and his wife. Preceded in death by his father, Andres; Daniel is survived by his wife, Dana, his daughters, Kristen Morales, Andrea Randle (Perry); grandchildren Augustine and Evita Randle; and his cats Korben and Leeloo. He will be deeply missed by many more relatives and friends. A mass will be held at St. Marks Catholic Church on Friday, May 10th at 10 AM, with a celebration of his life to follow. In lieu of flowers, please send either potted live plants or make a donation in his name to Operation Kindness.
