Dr. Larry Glenn Burrows, 77, was called to his heavenly home on January 11, 2024, in Aledo, Texas. Dr. Burrows graduated from Atlanta High School in 1964 and pursued his undergraduate degree in Biology at the University of North Texas. Upon completion of his undergraduate, he continued his educational journey at UNT by attaining his Master’s Degree in Aquatic Ecology. After graduation, Dr. Burrows began teaching high school Biology at Richardson High School, where he taught for one year. He then began medical school at the Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine in Fort Worth. During his residency at the Fort Worth Osteopathic Hospital, he met the love of his life, Becky Vesta Burrows. In 1976, he graduated from Texas College of Osteopathic Medicine with a degree in Family Medicine. That same year, he and Becky were married. Colleagues of Dr. Burrows refer to him as a pioneer and pillar of the Osteopathic community of North Texas. As the years passed, he prided himself on being a mentor for the generations of physicians and physician’s assistants who came after. Dr. Burrows opened his first family practice, the East Berry Medical Clinic, in 1978. In 1980, he opened his second practice in Aledo, TX. In 1986, Dr. Burrows and Becky moved to Aledo, where he remained until his passing. Dr. Burrows was a well-respected pillar of the Aledo community. He was a beloved physician that was truly gifted in managing patients with complicated medical conditions. He was an active and beloved member of the Aledo United Methodist Church. He was a member of the Chancel Choir and made numerous friends that shared in his love of music. From those friendships, numerous bands were born throughout the years, which also lead to the birth of the Praise Band at Aledo United Methodist Church. Dr. Burrows served as the team physician for the Aledo Bearcats High School football team for 20 years and was an active school board member for 10. If you ever met Dr. Burrows, there is a good chance he shared a story or two about his pride in being a part of the Bearcat community. Even with such a busy schedule, Dr. Burrows always made sure he was there for his three children; whether it be coaching multiple youth football and basketball teams or being present at games as his children grew older and excelled in various sports. Dr. Burrows continued to split his time between the Aledo and East Berry Clinics until 2002, when he decided to focus his time solely on the East Berry Clinic. Dr. Burrows was a trusted hospice referral source for me for a number of years. Even on his busiest days at the East Berry clinic, he would take time to visit with me about patients we could help.
I will never forget his love for music, his patients, his staff and mostly his family. He told me some great stories but I will remember one about he and O.J. Simpson as playmates in Louisiana! He will be sorrly missed and I am glad to count myself among his many friends!
Beautifully written Katie..
Prayers to you and the entire family. Every time I saw your dad, he was always smiling and pleasant to be around ❤️ A true gentleman

So sorry for your loss. We had many hours of playing with Larry, him usually on banjo and mrpy husband. Ed, playing base. We had wonderful times. He will certainly be missed. My prayers for peace and. Comfort.
Shocked and saddened to hear my friend Larry had passed. Graduated from Atlanta, TX High School with Larry in class of 64. Last saw him at our 50th reunion, but kept in touch on Facebook since and was able to see what great a family and support group Larry had. You could see the love in his eyes when pictured with those wonderful grandkids and no doubt he will be missed. While my friend is gone, there is no doubt in my mind that his was a life well lived.
Where to start so many great memories Larry called ma a few mos ago and we had a great conversation about Gods greatness !!! Save us seats by you!!
A lovely tribute to a very good man. Great men leave pain and suffering along their path in life; my good friend Larry spread laughter, music, generosity, solace, comfort and much healing. Precious memories will ease the pain of loss for his many friends, family and loving wife, Linda. Rest in peace buddy.

Great guy, condolences to the family.
I’m heartbroken to find out Dr. Burrows Passed Away, He was Our Family Doctor Since I was 11 years old, He was still treating my Mother. Until She passed On 12/31/2021
I was looking for A new Doctor So I typed in Our Old Family Doctor. And Now he’s Gone, He Sat me down and told me the truth about my mother’s condition when she was in denial. He said he was only doing it because he knew and could see how much I loved her. And he cared to tell me the truth, because he saw how hurt I was. I Miss both of them so Much 😢😢 I Love You Dr. Larry Burrows and I’ll always remember you. My Condolences To The Burrows Family. He was Truly A Angel.
