Will miss your smille that was a bright as the sun. I was so happy to see you in Az for lunch as you drove through. Rip cousin.
One word. Joy. It is a joy to be connected with Rita. I haven’t been with her for years because she was gone a lot and I moved, but she is always with me. Whenever I would see her she would say “Deeeeeb!” She always made me welcome in her world and I was hopelessly infected with her happy mood on occasions too numerous to mention.
I have many memories of us singing together. We have very similar taste in music and she picked some great songs to introduce to the worship team and congregation. She was always game to try new things and we enjoyed lots of them together. I have a recording of the 2 of us singing “His Eye Is On The Sparrow” acapella. If you are interested I can send it email.
Didn’t she always look like she was up to something? She knew how to pull the wool over my eyes and I appreciated that kind of humor. I considered it an honor, actually, because it told me she had taken the time to know the real me.
Even though we had disagreements, we always had a sense of respect for one another. I knew that she loved me and I’m pretty sure she knew I loved her too.
When she began turning out paper crafts I was floored at how easily and elegantly she pulled them together. She made beautiful things!
When I heard that she had passed into eternity I had a flash of joy in my soul. She inspired me to smile and enjoy life and that has been huge in my life. I now have 2 close friends that are there ahead of me. I am so looking forward to seeing her and hear her say “Deeeeeb!”
Will miss your wonderful smile and sense of humor. . Always admired your creativity and thoroughly enjoyed the fun time you, Patty and I went to Seven Feathers to scrap. Your were a sweet and joyful person, Rita.
I have so many sweet memories of Aunt Rita. She was so fun and was always up for an adventure! Her sweet spirit and love for others is an inspiration. She will be missed, and I’m so thankful for the promise of heaven.
Lewie,

Hold fast dear friend to your faith, your family and all of us who cherish you. We send you our love,

Rita and I crossed paths many times over the years and she was always a bright light, full of joy and laughter. I’m sorry for your loss, but love the endearing words of her obituary, knowing she is in peace and loved life to the fullest.
Second try (I’m not high tech). All of the words above are all so true. I personally didn’t know her extremely well, but, you wouldn’t know it. She was always so happy to see you, excited and upbeat, etc. I’ve only lived in Elkton 26-years and in the first years I hardly knew anybody. But, wherever I saw her she’d strike up a conversation like we were long lost friends! I’d look around to make sure it was me she was actually talking to! She was always so positive and optimistic, it was contagious. She will be missed to be sure, but for everyone who thinks about her now or thirty years from now, I’m sure they will instantly smile and reflect upon her kindness and pleasant disposition. She was congenial and had no faults that I knew of. Most conversations revolved around my daughter Sadie, who also admired her immensely. I hope I can pick up and carry on just an ounce of her optimism and positive outlook. It’s the least I could do to honor her memory and just try to carry on a little of her input into Elkton’s community.
To Lewis and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. I just learned about it from Sharon. You all will be in my prayers and thoughts.

A good description of Rita: always jolly. She was cheerful, enthusiastic and eager to learn what was new with you. Her love of crafts has left family and friends with loving keepsakes. She will be missed and fondly remembered.
