Marvin Martin Goodwin (Marty), 71, of Lewisville, Texas, passed away peacefully on the morning of September 6, 2023 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Marty was born September 18, 1951 to Charles and Margaret Goodwin in Dallas, Texas. After graduating from W. T. White High School in 1970, Marty began his 41 year career as a Master Plumber. During this time, he was an avid motorcycle rider, who practiced Karate and enjoyed playing multiple musical instruments. There are many people who will miss Marty’s sense of humor and one-of-a-kind personality, specifically in Lewisville, Texas. The kind people at Mama’s Daughter’s Diner, Korner Cafe, Main Street Cafe, and Big Jack’s BBQ all have many of Marty’s homemade bottlecap magnets, which he would hand out every time he stepped in the door. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles Joseph Goodwin Jr. and Margaret Ann Goodwin (Martin), brother John Goodwin, and sister Ann Goodwin, and survived by siblings, Terry Goodwin Dybala (Bobbie Su Nadal), Greg Goodwin, Kevin Goodwin, Casey Goodwin, Patrick Goodwin, and Lynn Goodwin Gresores (Adrian Gresores); children, Candace Goodwin Summerhays (Hyrum Summerhays), Heather Goodwin Fearnside (Steven Fearnside), Adriene Goodwin Wade (Steve Wade), Sean Goodwin, and Stephen Goodwin; grandchildren, Nicholas Cowley, Chance Wade, Chelsea Cowley, and Savannah Wade; and honorary brother Henry Loughborough who spent the last years caring for Marty. A memorial for Marty will be held November 18, 2023 at Korner Cafe in Lewisville, Texas from 11am to 1pm. 921 W. Main Street, Lewisville, TX

What a beautiful tribute to a man who clearly lived life doing what he loved. I’m so sorry for your loss Candy—he had to have been so proud to have been so loved by such an amazing daughter. Sending you a big hug!
