Carey Evans, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, embarked on his final journey on August 18, 2023. Born on April 23, 1945, in Wichita, Kansas, Carey’s life was filled with love, family and cherished memories. A dedicated and loving husband, Carey shared 55 years of marriage with his devoted wife Susan Evans. Their union was a testament to enduring love and partnership. Carey’s legacy continues through his sons, Marcus and Justin Evans, who were not only his children but also his closest friends. Carey’s heart swelled with pride and joy as he embraced his role as a grandfather. He leaves behind a legacy of grandchildren: Danielle Rangel, Catie Evans, Hunter Evans, and Michael Evans. He was very proud of their accomplishments, provided unwavering support, and cherished every moment spent with them. His love extended even further to his great-granddaughter, Arial Johnson, who was born on Carey’s 74th birthday and brought him immense happiness in his later years. In addition to his roles as a loving family man, Carey had a passion for fishing that was unmatched. The tranquility of the water, the thrill of the catch, and the camaraderie of friends made his fishing trips truly special. A celebration of Carey’s life will be held on September 8, 2023, at 11:00 AM at GracePoint Church, located at 9035 W. Central Ave. in Wichita, Kansas. Friends and family are invited to pay their respects and share fond memories of a life well-lived. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Carey’s honor to C.A.S.T. for Kids, reflecting his spirit of generosity and compassion. As we gather to bid farewell, let us remember Carey Evans as a man who exemplified love, dedication, and a zest for life. His laughter, wisdom, and the love he shared with us will forever echo in our hearts. Though he may have journeyed on, his legacy lives on in the memories we hold dear. May he rest in eternal peace. Rest in peace.
Aunt Susan,
I’m so sorry about uncle Carey’s passing. Although I wasn’t around him much in his later years my fondest memory of him was his laugh. You couldn’t help but laugh when he was laughing.
Thoughts and prayers to you, Marc, Justin and your extended family.
Much love,
