Jane Holt-Duecaster
Jane Holt-Duecaster (68), born on August 4, 1954, passed away on June 21, 2023, at Baylor Grapevine Hospital in TX. Jane was born in Rainelle, WV, to James Richard Holt of Fairmont, WV, and Jeanette Nutter of Rainelle, WV, and was raised in several U.S. locations. Jane attended Lamar University in Texas, where she pursued her college education. She graduated from Lamar University with a Bachelor’s Degree and later obtained her Juris Doctorate degree from West Virginia University. For 38 years, Jane dedicated herself to her work as an attorney with the Corps of Engineers before retiring in February 2020. Jane is survived by her loving husband, David Duecaster, her son Brian Duecaster, and his family. She is also survived by her brother Norman Holt, as well as her sisters Cindy Holt and Vicki Holt. Jane will be remembered as a loving mother, devoted wife, and cherished grandmother. She held a deep passion for spending time with her family, traveling, and boating at the lake. Jane’s kindness, generosity, and love for her family and friends will always be treasured. Her legacy of service and compassion will continue to inspire those she touched. May she rest in peace. Memorial Services will be held at First United Methodist Church of Hurst TX (521 W Pipeline Rd, Hurst, TX 76053) Monday 6/26/2023 at 2:00 PM in the sanctuary. The service will also be live streamed and can be accessed through the churches website at (https://livestream.com/fumchurst). Flowers can be sent to the church (Local Florist – Darla’s 817-284-1110) Cremation arrangement by Lone Star Cremation.

  1. I had a few occasions to get legal counsel from Jane on issues related to contracts, ethics and conflict of interest matters. She was always professional, courteous and compassionate as I remember her. She was truly missed when she retired and now to know she has passed on to eternity, we shall remember her for the many ways she had touched our lives.

  4. Over the course of my career, I had a handful of occasions to need Office of Counsel assistance and developed tremendous respect for Jane’s professional abilities. But even above serving as an excellent attorney, she became a friend. She had a quick mind, a kind word, and a hearty laugh that I will always remember. My condolences to Jane’s family and I hope it helps to know that she made a difference.
