Douglas Lavon Gideon
Douglas Lavon Gideon October 21, 1967 – April 22, 2022 Douglas Gideon entered heaven on April 22, 2022 after suffering a heart attack 2 days earlier. He is preceded in death by his father, Verlon Gideon. He is survived by Cindy Gideon (wife), Jonathan Gideon (son), Kay Gideon (mother), Verna Monk(sister), Terry Monk (brother-in-law), Travis Monk (nephew), Jacob Monk (nephew), Lyle Bailey (father-in-law), Kae Gillum(mother-in-law) and her husband Ralph Gillum, Alyn Merrill (brother-in-law and best friend since 2nd grade), Candy Merrill (sister-in-law), Carmen Merrill(niece), and Jackson Merrill (nephew). A Celebration of his life will be held on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at 3pm at First Baptist Church, Alvarado, TX.   1. Doug and I sang in three barbershop quartets together from the Arlington Goodtimes Chorus. We competed in several quartet contests, performed on many chorus shows, and even sang on a televised Christmas show. He was a wonderful friend and I truly will miss him.

    When I spoke with another colleague from CFW this afternoon, I learned of Doug’s passing. As Doug would have mentioned to you, I left CFW in 2017.
