Loyd “Don” Donavan Fletcher
A celebration of life for Loyd “Don” Fletcher 34 of the Dallas area. will be held on May 21, 2015 at 2 pm, at the Mayfield Kiser Funeral Home in Burleson, Texas. Don was born on October 16, 1980, To Lowell Douglas Fletcher and Sherry Shaver. The Lord called him to his house on May 13, 2015.   Don grew up in Texas from the age of 9 months. Don was currently attending Tarrant County College to become a Middle School Teacher. Don enjoyed video gaming, boating, fishing, and camping. But most of all he enjoyed being with his family as much as possible.   In 1999, Don joined the Army where he served for 15 years as an Army Supply Sergeant. He did one tour in Iraq and two tours in Afghanistan. Don was an outstanding soldier and Non-Commissioned Officer. Don always gave 150 percent to “Mission accomplishment” and taking care of the soldiers. While on active duty Don received Afghanistan Campaign Medal w/2 Campaign Stars, Bronze Star, Army Commendation Medal (4th Award), Army Achievement Medal (2nd Award), Navy and Marie Corp Achievement Medal (2nd Award), Meritorious Unit Commendation Medal, Army Superior Unit Award, Good Conduct Medal (4th Award), National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Medal, Iraq Campaign Medal with Campaign Star. In 2014 Don left the service and joined the 300th Special Troops Brigade of the Army Reserve. There Don continued his excellence always “Getting the Job Done” and always taking care of the Soldiers.   Don is survived by his father Lowell Douglas Fletcher Jr. and his step mother Kathy Fletcher of Temecula California, Two brothers Lowell Douglas Fletcher III of Oklahoma City Oklahoma and Charles Fletcher of Frisco, Texas. Wife Heidi (Terhune) Fletcher, of Copperas Cove Texas 4 daughters Kitiara, Angellina, Izabella, and Lilianna, and his two step children Caleb and Kiarra.

    I am so sorry for you loss. He was a great man, loving father and husband. I was not able to meet him personally, but through Heidi’s eyes, I was able to see the man that he was. I wish I was able to meet him. Many thoughts, prayers, and love your way.

    My sincere heartfelt condolences to each and everyone. I remember Donnie as a very young child, v ery kind and adorable when he visited us in Temple with hi s Dad Douglas and his brother! Though we lost contact I can see that he grew up to be an accomplished soldier and young man.

  9. Don was such a great man and always had such a bright smile and loved making people laugh. I am so sorry to The family Heidi he will be greatly missed by so many. Especially the dogs lol. He was a great Soldier and this world lost a great man my prayers for the family.

  10. My deepest condolences to the family of Sgt. Fletcher. I served with Sgt. Fletcher, for a short time, in FIDO. He was a good man and a good NCO. He cared about his soldiers and the soldiers around him. The thoughts and prayers of myself and my family are with the family of Sgt. Fletcher. He will be missed.

  11. My condolences to the Fletcher family. He was a great NCO, among the best. I remember our nights in Afganistan sitting out late, him telling the younger enlisted about past deployments. He was always taking care of everyone else. He had a way talking to us to ease whatever difficulties there were. We will see you at the gates of Valhalla brother rest easy.
